Our Founder Shri Sher Singh Karki ji
Sher Singh Karki ji was a great saint and Mahatma in true sense and he was the founder of Mahila Ashram Muvani, the organization that uplift women and make them self-dependent.
He was a teacher for many years. He experienced the vulnerability, illiteracy and destitution of women closely To upliftment of women he resigned from a government teacher and established Mahila Ashram Muvani on 2 October 1962 with his own personal resources.
Our Mission
Mahila Aashram Muwani is an N.G.O. which has been working for the development of villages and social services by which it is working for poor, unprivileged and unbaked women as well as the old age women who has been evicted from their houses. It has been established by Shri Sher Singh Karki Ji who was inspired by “Aacharya Vinoba Bhave’s Bhu-Dan Aandolan” in 2nd Oct, 1962 at Muwani, which is a small village near district Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
